Paul has arranged and transcribed many pieces for brass and he now has two series published by Brass Wind Publications
As a prolific arranger for English Brass Ensemble, Paul arranged and transcribed many pieces for brass quintet as the ensemble developed its concert performing profile. Dances of Terpsichore by Michael Praetorius, JS Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D minor and Quartet No 7 in F sharp minor op 108 by Dmitri Shostakovich were all popular works helping to establish the group as a world-class chamber ensemble. more...

Cecilia McDowall: The Night Trumpeter
"It had a lasting impression on me...a superbly atmospheric piece and leaves the audience, even on first listening, wanting to revisit it again to delve deeper into its many musical facets...the evocative music seemed to strike a chord with all present. Originally written for Paul Archibald and Kathron Sturrock, it is requires a great deal of maturity to perform well. It is a work to watch out for as I have a feeling it will find itself into the mainstream trumpet repertoire before too long..."

Mike Searby: Lament and Dance for Solo Trumpet
Lament and Dance for Solo Trumpet is an excellent unaccompanied ‘performance’ piece and a real challenge for all trumpeters. A very exciting unaccompanied piece that will be a delight both for the audience and performer. A real tour-de-force!

Simon Procter: The Huffle
The Huffle takes its name from an old Kentish folk dance celebrating the end of the hop-picking season. This exhilarating concert piece is a must for any trumpeter’s repertoire. Simon Proctor’s writing exudes freshness and vitality and this is a piece that displays the full potential of the performer and his instrument.

Torbjorn Hultmark: Alcantara Trumpet Concertino
Alcantara was conceived during a tour of Spain. The piece does not, except for the occasional hint, resort to musical cliché or pastiche, but reflects in a small and personal way the intensity of life and the strength of expression in this very special country, its people and culture. The spirit of flamenco was an inspiration for aspects of the texture of Alcantara.

Rutland Boughton: Trumpet Concerto
This piece, although 50 years old, is being published fore the first time and is a wonderful 'find' for the trumpet repertoire. A superb work written in a very 'English' style. The Concerto for Trumpet and Orchestra was composed in the August and September of 1943. Boughton dedicated it to his youngest son, Brian, who was then studying trumpet at the Royal College of Music under Ernest Hall.

Philip White: Wedding Music
The popular marches and voluntaries associated with the marriage service have provided countless millions of couples with an enjoyable repertoire for many years. These wonderful tunes, some of which are included in this collection, are tried and trusted and will continue to be an important part of the marriage service.
